What image size do I need to send you for printing / reproduction?
The image should be 300dpi to ensure quality printing and be in either Adobe RGB 1998 or Tiff format.
What is the resolution of your printers?
1800 to 2800 dpi apparent resolution.
What size images can you print?
We can print images up to 110 cm wide and 15m long.
What is the Giclée Printing Method?
Giclée is a French word that means "to spray or spread". In this case it refers to a way in which ink is deposited on the surface of paper, cloth, or other support as preferred by the artist/client. A Giclée print is a work of art that has been reproduced with digital ink jet technology using specialized, high resolution machinery, so that it can be considered as true to the original piece of artwork as is currently possible to achieve.
This printing technology produces images by depositing tiny droplets of varying sizes, controlled with extreme precision, onto the surface of the support. The result is an image of exceptional quality that has the same characteristics as an original image of continuous tones, producing an image with a perceived resolution of 2800dpi.
Will my print be affected by light and how long will it last?
The analysis carried out by Wilhelm Imaging Research, Inc (a leading authority in the care and preservation of Fine Art prints, photographs and films) show that the life of a Giclée print depends on the interaction of a variety of factors: the quality of the inks used in the printing, the surface printed upon, and the display conditions. The standardized conditions in which Wilhelm does his testing, equal 450 lux for 12 hours per day. That amount of light is considered the average for a home or office. Under these conditions, a Giclée image printed by us using Ultrachrome Inks, an Epson Fine Art Support and displayed under UV glass will have longevity of 150 years before any significant alteration in the color balance can be detected.
Do you require a minimum order?
No, we can print individual images and re-ordering is simple because the image will be stored in your account.
I have a limited edition, do I have to print the whole run?
No, as we store your image in your personal account, so you can print to order, hence there is no need to keep prints in stock.
I have an original piece of art; do I need to send it to you?
No, we can reproduce your original piece of art from a quality digital image, which you can simply send us via our website.
Will the print look exactly like the image I see on my computer screen?
The image you send via our website will be colour profiled to match our printer and the media you want the image printed on. The colours will be matched as closely as possible, depending on the quality and source of your image there may be very slight variations.
How will you send my print and can I trace its location?
We use the international courier UPS. The print will be wrapped in protective paper and then placed into a cardboard tube for protection. You can trace your order if delivered by UPS with the link shown on your account and you will receive a confirmation email that your print has been dispatched.
Is my print guaranteed by you?
We guarantee the quality of the products we produce. In the unlikely event that you are not satisfied with the quality of your order please contact us within 7 days from the date of delivery and we will send you a replacement print or offer you a refund, minus the cost of shipping, on the proviso that the poor quality of the print was not associated with the condition of the original image. However, as each image is inspected before printing this scenario is probably most unlikely.
In this case we ask that you return to us the print in the original packaging so that we can examine the print ourselves. The cost of the return postage will be the responsibility of the client.
